Oprah’s farmhouse on the side of Mount Haleakala on Maui was built with a nod to the Mississippi farm Oprah grew up on. The estate sits on a 60-acre working farm that grows 145 pounds of food per week all of which is donated to the local community. She bought the land in an effort to keep real estate moguls from swooping in and turning it into condos. Thanks, Oprah.

Neil Young’s Big Island Getaway

In 2015, singer-songwriter Neil Young sold his Hawaiian estate for a cool $20 million. The three-acre compound includes the main house with five bedrooms and four bathrooms as well as two two-bedroom guest cottages. The grounds include two greenhouses, a swimming pool, wraparound porches with panoramic views, and a grove of citrus trees including mangoes, pomelos and papayas.
