About Kona Palisades
Palisades or Kona Palisades is a community located south of the Kona international Airport just off of Kaiminani Dr. in North Kona. This residential community is made up of several different subdivisions the largest being the Kona Palisades Estates. The entrance is located about a half a mile south of the Kona airport near sea level and travels up the hill to about 1500-foot elevation at Mamalahoa Highway.

The three largest neighborhoods include Kona Palisades Estates, Kona Coast view, Kona Wonder view, and Kona Highlands. Other smaller neighborhoods include Alii Kehau, Hualalai Terrace, Kahaolino, Kalaoa Terrace, Kalaoa View, Keahole Heights, Keahole Mauka, Keonelehua Heights, Kokua Loa, Kona Acres, Kona Ocean View, Lokahi Makai, Makaula, Moana Vista, Puuhonua Estates, Puukala, University Heights, University Heights West, University Parkside, Wainane Estates.
Lots and homes vary greatly from a subdivision to subdivision and include lots of just 7500 ft.² up to 1 acre or even larger. There’s a combination of underground and overhead utilities and homes dating back to the mid-1970s as well as those being built out and upgraded today.
Residents are just minutes to downtown Kailua Kona, the airport, local schools, shopping, and easy access to resorts, restaurants, and beaches. Waikoloa and Waimea are minutes from Kona Palisades.
Because there are so many different subdivisions within Kona Palisades, there may or may not be homeowner association fees attached to each home or neighborhood. Some fees may be of little as $50 a year while others may be closer to $250 per month based on neighborhood amenities and how much maintenance the Association provides.
At any given time, there is roughly 8 to 20 properties for sale within the master-planned community of Kona Palisades. These are traditional single-family homes of either one or two-story, some with or without garages and some with backyard swimming pools and ideal indoor/outdoor living environments.
Residents are part of the North Kona Hawaii educational district and are served by the Kealakehe elementary school, the Kealakehe middle school, and the Kealakehe high school. All three schools are about 3 ½ miles from the entrance to Palisades.
